The Croatian Terminology Portal represents a focal point for all available contemporary terminological resources in the Croatian language, gathering terms from four different sources: Struna, the Miroslav Krleža Institute of Lexicography, the Croatian Standards Institute, and the termbase of specialised dictionaries and glossaries. The Portal was developed by a team of terminologists working on the Struna termbase at the Department of General Linguistics of the Institute of Croatian Language and Linguistics, who saw the need to offer as many specialised terms and concepts as possible in one place. The Portal is primarily oriented towards translators and domain experts, but also towards students or anyone interested in terminology and specialised knowledge. The Portal's search engine was designed to provide the user with easily accessible information. Search results are displayed in separate tabs in order to keep the original source of each term entry, which also allows for insight into the theoretical and terminological management principles implemented in the work of each institution. Apart from the search engine as its main component, the Croatian Terminology Portal also offers a list of other reliable terminological resources, e.g. glossaries and lexicons that are available online, and a blog in Croatian with relevant terminology related issues and topics – Terminoblog.
