TERMCAT has published online the Diccionari de llengües del món (‘Dictionary of World Languages’), which provides information on 1,264 languages. TERMCAT has produced this dictionary in collaboration with the Directorate General for Language Policy of the Government of Catalonia, the Study Group of Endangered Languages (GELA) of the University of Barcelona and the International Escarré Centre for Ethnic Minorities and Nations (CIEMEN). Each entry includes the name or names of the language in Catalan as well as in other 18 languages: Arabic, Welsh, German, English, Spanish, Basque, French, Galician, Guarani, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Occitan, Portuguese, Russian, Swahili, Tamazight and Chinese. The name of the language is also included in that language. Additionally, the dictionary contains information on the linguistic affiliation of each language, the countries where it is spoken, its sociolinguistic situation, its vitality, some historical facts, etc.

The forthcoming edition of the international conference “Terminology & Ontology: Theories and applications (TOTh)” will be held on 4 and 5 June 2015 at University of Savoie, in Chambéry (France) with the support of the French Ministry of Culture (DGLFLF) and of the European Association for Terminology.
