On 7th and 8th October 2008, the EAFT, in collaboration with the Translation Bureau (Canada) held its Terminology Summit at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO). It was the first time the EAFT organized such an event outside the European borders.
The slogan chosen for this Summit was “Bringing people and ideas together”. The various presentations and debates were devoted to the diverse and concrete aspects of innovative partnerships (partnerships in teaching, multisectorial and multilingual partnerships and other collaborations).
One of the aims of this congress was to foster the collaboration and the communication between terminologists, and so the respect of multilingualism and non major languages.
159 participants from various countries attended the Summit.
