Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language ZRC SAZU invited TERMCAT to participate in a meeting for the exchange of experience and cooperation in the external projection of terminology, on the occasion of the celebrations of the 40th anniversary of the ZRC SAZU. At the meeting with all terminologists, which was organised with the support of the European Association for Terminology (EAFT), Sandra Cuadrado presented the lines of work of Termcat and the challenges for the near future. According to the head of the Fran Ramovš Institute of the Slovenian Language ZRC SAZU, Kozma Ahačič, and the head of the Terminological Section, Mojca Žagar Karer, who presented the event, the two institutions have many points of confluence as terminological models consolidated in the current European multilingual space, and ways of joint collaboration will be explored in the future.
 
The Institute of the Slovenian Language was established in 1945 with the aim of collecting linguistic material and using it to create basic Slovene language resources. The Institute has been re-organised several times. Since the establishment of ZRC SAZU in 1981, it has comprised various departments. Today it consists of the Lexicological Section, Terminological Section, Dialectological Section, Etymological-Onomastic Section, Section for the History of the Slovenian Language and Centre for Language Technologies Development. It is the central national organisation for the systematic observation and description of Slovenian language material. The institute's research activities result in different dictionaries (including various terminological dictionaries), digital collections and handbooks of Slovenian language as well as in numerous research articles. There are also two counselling services, one for general language and one specialised for terminology.
