The overall topic for the summit is: Terminology – Innovation and Sustainability.
Following the pandemic and last Summit and its theme “Terminology in Challenging Circumstances”, we wanted to focus on more positive issues for this Summit. So, we chose Innovation and Sustainability. These broad subjects will allow us to reflect on and discuss what is new and exciting in the world of terminology, but also on what is still valid and interesting to keep doing. As an example of the first, artificial intelligence (AI) has become part of our private lives and working lives – and terminology work is no exception. How does it affect terminology work and how do terminologists handle it? On the other hand there also seems to be a renewed interest in history of terminology and e.g. Wüster and this could be discussed under the heading of sustainability, where also the terminology of sustainability itself could be in focus.
The Summit will have three sessions covering different subtopics. Each session will have invited speakers and discussions. There will also be an open session (session 4) addressed to those professionals who want to share their experiences on the general topics proposed in a set time limit.
